Welcome to our home page!
Here I’d like you to meet my two English Cocker Spaniels – LUKASS and FIBIS (in English pronounced as Lucas and Phebe) – and a Leonberger LARSENS (in English pronounced as Larsen), who all live in the house called „TEIKAS” (the house-name in English means „Legends”).
My name is Rudite Turka. We are a family of six people: my husband, two sons, my parents and myself. I have been curious to know more about dogs since my childhood, and I was very keen on having my own pet. When I started living on my own and got a job, I bought my first puppy. It was an East European Shepherd bitch, whose name was Teika. We regularly worked hard during the dog training sessions and passed the exam of OKD III (General Obedience Course). My second dog whom I trained and took care of also was an East European Shepherd, this time a dog – Tagors. I bought my first English Cocker Spaniel in 1992. It was a red coloured bitch Megija (Meggy). But at Christmas of 1996 our family obtained a new family member – Lukass, a Blue Roan coloured English Cocker. Lukass started his dog show career when he was just 4 months old and went on to become legendary. In spring 2004 Fibis arrived from Poland and became a good companion to Lukass.
When we moved into our new house, it took quite a while to decide what would be the most suitable breed to become the „manager of the yard”. Too aggressive ones wouldn’t do for us, as we wanted an intelligent and respectable dog. So, we arrived at the decision: it will be a Leonberger, and Larsens arrived at our home in May 2007, from Finland.
